AIMS
- To call upon IFNGO Member & respective countries to demonstrate determination and commitment to attain HEALTHY WHOLESOME COMMUNITIES – NO DRUGS. To coordinate and implement effective action plans for the prevention of drug and substance abuse for IFNGO Member countries.
- To call upon Civil Society, Private Sector, Universities, N.G.O.s & Government Agencies to enhance cooperation and collaboration to ensure children and youth are protected from the scourge of drug and substance abuse.
- To call on all youth to play proactive & positive peer pressure roles to ensure the new generation is drug-free.
- To call upon relevant United Nations Agencies: UNODC, WHO, ILO, UNESCO, UNICEF, OIC, ASEAN, & SAARC to assist this conference in fulfilling its objectives.
OBJECTIVES
- To provide a forum for the exchange and sharing of information, ideas, and innovative modalities for prevention of drug and substance abuse.
- To formulate recommendations to ensure continuity and sustainability of drug and substance abuse prevention programmes and modalities.
- To present and demonstrate primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention modalities and approaches proven to be effective in the prevention of drug and substance abuse and related issues.
- To focus on the global burden of disease from alcohol-tobacco consumption and reiterate the importance of national and regional programmes and policies for its prevention.
- To stress the importance of religion and family in helping youth to pursue happy, healthy, and wholesome drug-free lifestyles.
